Xiaomi has become the top smartphone brand in the world for the first time, surpassing Samsung and Apple. The Chinese tech company achieved this feat as of June this year. Basically, Xiaomi has occupied this position as the smartphone delivery in the global market in June.
According to market research firm Counterpoint Research, Xiaomi’s sales are increasing by 26 percent every month. As such, Xiaomi is the fastest growing brand in June 2021. In the second quarter of this year, Xiaomi surpassed Apple in the second position in the global market. It’s like selling smartphones. From 2011 to the second quarter, Xiaomi sold 800 million smartphones.
Tarun Pathak, director of research at Counterpoint Research, said Huawei’s fall in the market is one of the reasons for the rise for Xiaomi. Since then, Xiaomi began to take an ‘aggressive’ role in the global market through innovation and new technology. As a result, Xiaomi can fill the gap of Huawei in a few days.
He said, ‘Huawei and Honor phones have built large markets in China, Europe, Middle East and Africa. Among these markets, Xiaomi has come to the top by rescuing China, Europe and Indian markets. Samsung has started falling behind in these markets.
Regarding the decline in Samsung’s phone supply in the Chinese market and the world, senior analyst Varun Mishra said that the Chinese market grew by 16 percent in June. The most growing brand among them is Xiaomi. Xiaomi has also done well offline and in relatively low-income cities. In these markets, Redmi 9, Redmi Note 9 and Redmi K series have gone ahead. At the same time, Samsung’s production in Vietnam has been disrupted by the coronavirus outbreak. As a result, Samsung’s smartphone supply has been disrupted. In a very short time, Xiaomi has managed to cover a large market with their large product portfolio.
Xiaomi’s market in the country grew by 26 percent due to the disruption of Samsung’s production in Vietnam. As a counter point, Xiaomi occupied 17.1 percent of the global market in June 2021. At the same time Samsung’s market share is 15.7 percent and Apple is in third position with 14.3 percent market share.
However, six months are left for the end of this year. In this way, the Chinese smartphone brand Xiaomi can retain the top position even at the end of the year if it continues to supply phones in the global market.
